NAMES IN THE NEWS

          ESPN's KARL RAVECH said he was "lucky" after undergoing
     an angioplasty last week to clear a blocked artery after
     suffering a heart attack.  The 33-year-old Ravech was
     playing pick-up basketball last week when he experienced
     pain in his chest and arms.  Ravech: "I was lucky.  I went
     from a heart attack to angioplasty in 45 minutes to an hour"
     (USA TODAY, 11/10)....EARL WOODS, appearing at the Nation's
     Capital Distinguished Speakers Series in DC with his son,
     TIGER, and IMG Founder MARK MCCORMACK, said that ADOLF
     HITLER's "Mein Kampf" was a book that "inspired him."  Earl
     then "quickly added he was joking" and said later that he
     never read the book and "apologized to anyone he may have
     offended" (WASHINGTON POST, 11/11)....PERCY MILLER, aka
     MASTER P, on his intention to play professional basketball:
     "My plan is to handle my business and whenever the lockout
     is over get ready to go to some big NBA team.  I have a lot
     of teams interested" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 11/10).       
     ...PRINCE NASEEM HAMED is "about to dump promoter" FRANK
     WARREN and negotiate his own fight deals (USA TODAY, 11/11).
