FOX SPORTS ONLINE GOES NON-PC IN NEW TV SPOTS

In an attempt to "break the online advertising mold,"
Cliff Freeman & Partners, N.Y., has created TV spots for Fox
Sports Online that "spoof situations that border on
politically incorrect," according to Beth Snyder of AD AGE.
One spot shows an elderly man struggling to get his medicine
from a kitchen cabinet, while his care giver "is absorbed
with Fox Sports Online." When the man drops his pills, the
care giver "rolls his eyes in irritation, but never looks
away from the computer screen." This spot, along with two
others, will run on Fox Sports' NFL and regional broadcasts.
Fox Sports Senior VP/Marketing Neil Tiles: "We're trying to
bring the bond young males have with sports and trying to
bring that over to online" (AD AGE, 11/9).
