     would like to try out for the league "once the NBA works

     GEORGE STEINBRENNER will send free agent CF BERNIE WILLIAMS
     to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to deliver two
     $100,000 checks from the YANKEES FOUNDATION to help with
     hurricane relief (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 10/29)....DOMINIQUE
     MOCEANU was declared a legal adult in a Houston court after
     her parents agreed to "drop their resistance to the action." 
     The ruling gives Moceanu "some measure of financial
     independence" (WASHINGTON POST, 10/29).
