          Time Warner Vice Chair TED TURNER sold 1.39 million
     shares of the company, raising "roughly" $125M as part of
     his program to raise money for his UN Foundation and other
     charities (DAILY VARIETY, 10/27)....Warriors G LATRELL
     SPREWELL sued his agent ARN TELLEM on Monday for "failing to
     negotiate a personal conduct salary protection clause in his
     contract with the Warriors."  Sprewell claimed that as a
     result he lost pay for the games he was suspended (USA
     TODAY, 10/27)....The CHRIS EVERT/TYCO INT'L CELEBRITY TENNIS
     TOURNAMENT at the Delray Beach Tennis Center over the
     weekend drew more than 5,000 fans and raised $800,000 for
     the Chris Evert Charities over the weekend (Ft. Lauderdale
     SUN-SENTINEL, 10/26)....Heat coach PAT RILEY was named the
     "most stylish man" at GQ Magazine's "Men of the Year" awards
     last week (AP, 10/24)....Yankees Manager JOE TORRE was on
     the "Late Show" with DAVID LETTERMAN.  Torre: "I think I've
     probably talked GEORGE [STEINBRENNER] out of firing me a few
     times."  Letterman: "George ain't going to fire you.  I'll
     tell you why George is not going to fire you and not only
     because of the World Series.  You're a smart guy.  And
     George knows you're smarter than he is" (CBS, 10/27).
