SHOWTIME OFFERS REAL DEAL BEANIE BABY TO ATLANTA TV VIEWERS

Showtime "is expected" to announce Thursday that it is
"lifting the blackout" for the Evander Holyfield-Vaughn Bean
fight on Saturday night at the Georgia Dome, according to
Jeff Schultz of the ATLANTA CONSTITUTION. Showtime had
planned to broadcast the fight "nationally on a free-preview
weekend, with hopes of luring subscribers." Network
officials "reserved the right to black out the fight in the
greater Atlanta area." But the fight has "sold more than
20,000 tickets, with organizers still expected strong walk-
up sales in the final days" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 9/15).
