Disney will open an ESPN Zone theme restaurant in Times Square in time for the New Year's Eve 2000 celebration, according to Peter Gant of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS. The "three- level restaurant and entertainment complex", under construction in the Conde Nast Building at 42nd Street and 7th Avenue, will feature "dozens of TV screens, a virtual reality game room and a studio for broadcasting specials." The Times Square site will be the "flagship" in its chain of theme ESPN Zone restaurants. The initial ESPN Zone opened in Baltimore last July (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/10).
