MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

In Detroit, Kupelian & O'Hara wrote to "expect a higher
profile this season" in Detroit from Red Wings C Sergei
Fedorov, who recently switched agencies from IMG to
Advantage Int'l. Advantage's Mike Liut: "What Sergei
related to us is he would like to be more involved with his
affairs and become more of a prominent individual. ... He
feels there's a side of him that Detroit doesn't know and it
concerns him" (DETROIT NEWS, 8/30)...In Montreal, Pat Hickey
wrote on Canada's ban of tobacco as a sponsor of sports
events: "[I]n the absence of any concrete proof that the
sponsorship of such events contributes to tobacco usage, the
government would be better off tackling far more serious
aspects of the smoking issue" (Montreal GAZETTE, 8/30).
...Jaguars DE Renaldo Wynn has become a spokesperson for
     Woolverton [FL] Oldsmobile-GMC (FL TIMES-UNION, 8/30)....EAS

this year on golf, followed by Chrysler at $5M and Ford with
$2.5M (TORONTO STAR, 8/30)....Hundreds of "awestruck Tara

CLARIFICATION: In his SGB interview, Starter CEO David
