NO ST. LOUIS BLUES AS FOX SPORTS STEPS UP CARDS COVERAGE

Fox Sports Midwest (FSMW) will televise three
additional MLB Cardinals games during the team's final
homestand. FSMW will pick up the September 24, 26 and 27
games against the Expos. All three of the games were
previously unscheduled for TV coverage. The move means that
each of the Cardinals final 18 regular season games will be
seen in the St. Louis market (Fox Sports Midwest).
KASH 'N KERRY: Fox Sports MLB Senior Coordinating
Producer John Filipelli, on the Cubs pushing up Kerry Wood's
start from Saturday to Friday, meaning he will miss a chance
to be featured on Saturday's "MLB on Fox" national telecast
against Astros P Randy Johnson: "Are we disappointed? Yes.
Do we understand? Most certainly" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 8/21).
Fox Sports Senior VP/Media Relations Vince Wladika: "I have
no doubt that the Cubs got a lot of phone calls from Fox
people. But to suggest we'd call to try to influence the
rotation is absurd" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 8/21). Cubs Manager
Jim Riggleman, on Fox's complaint over the change in the
pitching rotation: "I don't resent it. But I know they
don't have a full understanding of the situation." Wood:
"It would've been fun" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 8/21).
