MAVS' USSERY DECLINES COMMENT ON SEXUAL MISCONDUCT CHARGES

Mavericks President Terdema Ussery "has declined to
discuss the charges of sexual misconduct that were leveled
against him by members of the organization," according to
David Moore of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Ussery: "It's been
addressed. I really don't want to elaborate any further.
What we're focused on is building a great organization.
That was and is our focus" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/21).
MAVS WANT WNBA: Moore also reports that the Mavs are
among "six or seven" teams that WNBA President Val Ackerman
said would like to have a WNBA club when they move into new
arenas. Ussery: "We would like to have one going into the
new arena, so ideally, the best-case scenario would be the
summer of 2001" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/21).
