          The 11 days of the '98 Great American Insurance ATP
     Championship drew 165,643 fans, including record crowds for
     the main draw semifinals Saturday night (10,702) and
     Sunday's final (10,682).  Total paid attendance was 1,097
     ahead of last year (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 8/17)....The PGA
     Championship's third round at the Sahalee Country Club in WA
     drew 29,400, and "at least that many" attended Sunday.  PGA
     of America CEO Jim Awtrey: "I could say Sahalee, taking
     everything into consideration, is the most successful
     tournament we've ever done" (SEATTLE TIMES, 8/17).
