CHICAGO REPORT SAYS MJ HAS NEW ENDORSEMENT DEALS "ON HOLD"

Michael Jordan has decided against taking on any
"additional endorsements," according to George Lazarus of
the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. Jordan has "put on hold any new
deals," but his associates said Bulls "fans shouldn't read
too much into it. The move is a business decision unrelated
to his deliberations over whether to return to the Bulls
this year." FAME's Estee Portnoy said the firm is "not
actively pursuing" any deals. One Chicago-area marketer
said, "They obviously feel he's been overexposed." Jordan's
endorsements were estimated to be worth $47M in '97. A
source told Lazarus that if Jordan was "available," it would
     take a "minimum" of $2M a year and at least a 10-year
commitment to sign him (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 8/17).
