ESPN EXTENDS PEACE PIPE TO MLB FOR SEPTEMBER SUNDAY NIGHTERS

ESPN "has proposed" the addition of a Friday night MLB
doubleheader and a Tuesday night game throughout September
in exchange for placing September MLB Sunday night games on
ESPN2 so it can present its NFL coverage on ESPN, according
to Phil Mushnick of the N.Y. POST. MLB "has indicated that
if ESPN removes its Sunday nighters from ESPN, it will seek
an immediate end to its deal with ESPN via a breach of
contract claim." MLB "has reached out to learn" if TNT
"would be willing to assume the balance of its ESPN deal."
Mushnick reports that TNT, having lost Sunday night NFL to
     ESPN, "responded with a thumbs-up" (N.Y. POST, 8/14).
