WNBA HITS THE LAND DOWN UNDER WITH FIRST OVERSEAS PROMOTION

          Australia-based retailer Myer/Grace, which earlier this
     year became the first foreign retailer to carry WNBA
     merchandise, will conduct the first WNBA retail promotion
     outside of the U.S. this summer, as it stages in-store
     women's 2-on-2 basketball competitions during July.  Fans
     attending each contest can enter a drawing for a trip for
     two to see the WNBA Mercury -- whose PG Michele Timms is
     from Australia -- play in the U.S.  The winner of the
     drawing, which will be open to all contestants in the 2-on-2
     games and anyone who purchases WNBA merchandise in the
     stores, will also get the opportunity to meet Timms (WNBA).
