ESPN's David Aldridge noted that Jazz F KARL MALONE
"has a new agent in DWIGHT MANLEY, who also happens to
represent DENNIS RODMAN." Malone and Rodman will wrestle in
a WCW PPV match this Sunday ("SportsCenter," 7/9)....Former
Vikings DE ALAN PAGE filed for a second six-year term on the
MN Supreme Court. Page, elected in '92, will become MN's
Senior Justice in September (BLOOMBERG BUSINESS NEWS, 7/8).
.....JAY LENO, on the heat in L.A. yesterday: "Oh, man, I
tell you, I was sweating like a 10-year-old Malaysian kid in
a Nike factory" ("Tonight Show," NBC, 7/9)....KEN GRIFFEY
JR.'s attorney asked that the Mariners CF be dropped from a
lawsuit in which a former business partner accuses him of
backing out of a contract to open a chain of GRIFFEY'S
SPORTS BAR AND GRILLS. David Lawyer, Griffey's attorney,
said that his client "bought out" the partners in the
business "that never took shape beyond the planning stages."
Griffey later signed with Planet Hollywood to develop the
Official All Star Cafe. The next court date is set for July
24 (SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER, 7/10).
