In his five starts since the 20-strikeout performance, a case can be made that Wood has brought 42,519 more fans to the ballpark, for an average of 8,504 more per game, compared to the home team's average attendance at the time of each start (THE DAILY). NOTES: As of Wood's 20-K game, 129,800 fans had attended his first five starts, an average of 25,960. Since the record-setting performance, 189,750 fans have attended his last five starts, an average of 37,950 -- up 11,990 per start....The May 6 game in which Wood struck out 20 batters was the Cubs' smallest home crowd of the season....While yesterday's game was below the season average, it saw a boost of 5,184 from the Wednesday afternoon 20-K game....The May 23 game at Atlanta was the largest crowd in Turner Field history, and the 8th-largest in Braves history (THE DAILY).
