Washington Sports & Entertainment's Centre Management
     was awarded a five-year contract to continue managing the
     Baltimore City Arena.  Centre Management will be paid
     $435,000 a year under the deal (Baltimore SUN, 6/4)...
     ...Victoria Sports/Entertainment Associates has retained
     Rick Horrow of the Horrow Sports Group to consult on the
     Victoria (B.C) Centre development.  The city is developing a
     multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex which will
     serve as home for the IHL Spiders (VSEA).

          Steelers President Dan Rooney "charged yesterday that
     city and county officials are trying to force his franchise
     to assume too much of the financial burden for Plan B,"
     according to Ed Bouchette of the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE. 
     Rooney, who contends that rising stadium costs would make it
     difficult to improve the Steelers' financial situation
     relative to other NFL teams, said that if talks aimed a new
     North Shore football stadium aren't settled by June 30,
     "other options will be explored."  Rooney "complained" that
     while the Steelers have pledged at least $15M more to Plan B
     that the Pirates, $50M to $35M, officials "want still more
     from them."  Rooney: "We will help, but we're not going to
     carry water for everybody."  County Commissioner Bob Cranmer
     "restated" his position that the Steelers "must increase
     their investment in the proposed football stadium." 
     Bouchette reports that if the Plan B deadline is missed, the
     team "may look at nearby counties that might be interested
     in building a football stadium" (POST-GAZETTE, 6/4).
