PROSECUTION WRAPS UP KING CASE; JURY TO BEGIN DELIBERATIONS

During closing arguments in the Don King fraud trial,
Assistant U.S. District Attorney Christine Chung "described
Don King ... as a liar who fraudulently collected $350,000
in insurance after a 1991 fight was canceled," according to
Richard Sandomir of the N.Y. TIMES. Chung told the jury
that King "had the motive, means and opportunity" to submit
a "phony contract" to a Lloyd's of London syndicate. Peter
Fleming, one of King's attorneys, said in his closing, "I
heard in the last five minutes the word 'lie' as many as 15
times. Do you see a single count of perjury against Don
King?" Sandomir writes that the jury "could begin
     deliberations tomorrow" (N.Y. TIMES, 6/30).
