Seville, Spain, "announced its intention to bid" for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, and did it at the gathering of the Association of National Olympic Committees, which began yesterday -- in Seville, according to Ashante Infantry of the TORONTO STAR. The announcement was a "surprise move," as IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch is from Barcelona, which hosted the '92 Games. That same year, Seville was the site of the World Expo.
