Greg Martin and Tom Heaney, who are trying to recreate Ebbets Field in downtown Hartford, had architectural drawings done by FL-based architects Lescher & Mahoney. The stadium is projected to cost $15-25M, and once financed, Martin and Heaney "are ready" to buy an independent minor league team (HARTFORD COURANT, 6/2)....In Ft. Worth, a STAR- TELEGRAM editorial says that the work done at Texas Motor Speedway in just eight weeks "is staggering." The entire course of the track has been "redesigned, demolished, rebuilt and resurfaced at a cost somewhere between" $2-3M, "all in an effort to make it the best racing ground possible for NASCAR's top Winston Cup drivers.
