TIGER'S CRY: "I TAKE SHOTS FOR EVERYTHING I DO"

TIGER WOODS appeared live for one-hour on CNN's "Larry
King Live" last night. King asked Woods how he chooses the
companies he partners with: "Reputable companies, companies
I feel comfortable with. Those two are the biggest criteria
because if I don't feel comfortable then I don't want to
work with them, I don't want to be associated with them and
I won't be happy." Woods said that he's received "a number"
of offers, but that right now there is "a moratorium" on new
endorsements. Woods, on JOHN FEINSTEIN's book, "The First
Coming. Tiger Woods: Master or Martyr?": "He doesn't know
me. ... This is a guy who observes from the outside, never
has a chance to get to know me and then goes ahead [and]
takes shots at me." Woods, on whether he knew he would
receive criticism for turning down PRESIDENT CLINTON's
invitation to attend the JACKIE ROBINSON ceremony last year:
"I take shots for everything I do" (CNN, 6/10).
