HASEK'S HEROES: SABRES FEVER CONTINUES TO GROW IN BUFFALO

Ticket scalpers are getting "as much as" $75 for upper
bowl and $125 for lower bowl seats for Sabres playoff games
at Marine Midland Arena, "the hottest and most popular
ticket since the Bills went to four straight Super Bowls,"
according to Gene Warner of the BUFFALO NEWS. Game Three of
the Eastern Conference finals is tonight, and last Tuesday,
the Sabres sold the remaining 18,000 tickets for their three
possible third-round playoff games in 2 1/2 hours. In
addition, a line of "several thousand" fans waited at a
local JCPenney yesterday to see the Stanley Cup, which has
drawn "roughly" 15,000 fans already in two appearances
(BUFFALO NEWS, 5/28). Also in Buffalo, Sharon Linstedt
reports that local department and sporting goods stores said
Sabres items are "moving rapidly" (BUFFALO NEWS, 5/28).
