THOMPSON AND LESLIE PART OF NEW ANNE KLEIN FALL CAMPAIGN

Anne Klein's new fall ad campaign, "Significant Women,"
will feature photographs of 30 women, including four-time
Olympic gold medalist Jenny Thompson and WNBA player Lisa
Leslie. The campaign, shot by Annie Leibowitz, also includes
former TX Gov. Ann Richards, actresses Bebe Neuwirth and
Joan Allen and singer Reba McEntire, among others. Anne
Klein Dir of PR Laura Miller told THE DAILY that Thompson
and Leslie were chosen for the campaign because "they are
incredible role models. They're young, dynamic and have
achieved so much at a relatively early age." Miller: "We
wanted women who represented all facets of life. We wanted
accomplished women, women with balance, and a group that our
customers can relate to." Miller added there are no models
in the campaign, only "women who could be your boss, who
work everyday lives." The campaign will run from August to
October '98 with ads placed in various fashion, business and
home decor magazines. The campaign will run via two 32-page
inserts, an eight- and a two-page spread. Thompson is
represented by Sue Rodin of Stars & Strategies while Leslie
is repped by Beth Schueler of Management Plus (THE DAILY).
