GET OUT THE ROCKY MT. VOTE: MLB BEGINS ALL-STAR BALLOTING

          MLB announced that balloting for the '98 All-Star Game,
     sponsored by CompUSA and Pepsi, will begin May 4 and
     continue through June 21.  A total of 70 million ballots
     will be distributed, with Pepsi distributing ballots through
     Pizza Hut and Wal-Mart, and CompUSA handling in-stadium and
     retail balloting (MLB).  For this year's game at Coors
     Field, MLB will accommodate all 35,000 Rockies season-ticket
     holders and sell 1,000 seats through a public lottery. 
     Coors Field will seat 50,500 for the game (USA TODAY, 4/29). 
     MLB will use 14,500 seats (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 4/29).
