          Long-time MLB exec GABE PAUL died Sunday at the age of
     88.  Paul was a former Yankees President and served as
     Indians President & CEO.  He also was a top exec for the
     Reds and Astros (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 4/28)....NFL
     Enterprises Sales Manager JEFFREY JOHNSON was honored by the
     Direct-To-Home and telecom industry as the recipient of the
     first-even T. HOWARD FOUNDATION Leadership Award.  Johnson
     was recognized for his contributions which personify the
     Foundation's mission of promoting a diversified work place
     (NFLE)....Chargers QB RYAN LEAF appeared on the "Late Show"
     with DAVID LETTERMAN.  Leaf, on being in San Diego: "I'm
     thinking a house on the beach won't suck" (CBS, 4/27)....ED
     BURNS of "The Brothers McMullen" fame has agreed to star in
     a new sports film, "Trillion," from New Line Cinema.  The
     film is about "an overachieving, 29-year-old NBA basketball
     player who discovers he has a heart condition but can't bear
     to quit the sport" (DAILY VARIETY, 4/28)....VT-based Fuse
     Integrated Sports Marketing Founder TERESA BOWKER is
     featured in AD AGE's "On A Roll."  Bowker's firm targets
     young, active consumers, and her tip is, "Kids are skeptics. 
     Avoid overt promotions screaming 'sponsorship,' instead
     using brands in very relevant, service-based ways" (AD AGE,
     4/27)....Bucks G RAY ALLEN appeared on this morning's "GMA"
     to discuss his starring role in SPIKE LEE's "He Got Game." 
     Allen said that more acting roles were "definitely" in his
     future ("Good Morning America," ABC, 4/28).

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
