FISHERMAN GONE WITH THE WAVES: ISLES TO BRING BACK OLD DUDS

The Islanders wore the "old white, blue and orange
uniform they likely will wear for good next season" last
night in their home finale, according to Marc Berman of the
N.Y. POST. Although the team won't make an official
announcement until its new ownership application is
approved, team execs are "planning on going back to the
classic duds next season" (Marc Berman, N.Y. POST, 4/17).
The current "wave" jerseys will "likely" remain as a third
jersey next season (Ralph Vacchiano, N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 4/17).
STARS WANT GREEN: Despite being "rejected once," Stars
President Jim Lites said that the team plans to ask the NHL
if they can wear "their lucky (and fast-selling) green
sweaters for possible Game 5s and Game 7s" in the playoffs,
according to Dave Caldwell of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS.
Lites said that the NHL's reasoning was that teams traveling
to Reunion Arena for two games "would be required" to bring
home and road jerseys, and also that the NHL "does not want
to overexpose the new sweaters" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 4/17).
