WOMEN'S WORLD CUP: The '99 Women's World Cup Organizing
Committee named four of its seven venue directors: SUSAN
MARENOFF, formerly VP/Sales & Client Services at MSG, will
run Giants Stadium; TIM LARKIN, who served as Manager of
Stadium Ops for the Rose Bowl during World Cup '94, will
head Foxboro Stadium; MATT ALEXANDER, former Marketing Dir
for the U.S. Senior Open golf championships, will handle
Soldier Field, JIM TAYLOR, former Dir of Corporate
Communications/Community Relations for the Trail Blazers,
will head up the venue at Portland's Civic Stadium (WWOC).
OTHER EXECS: The Braves extended the contract of GM
JOHN SCHUERHOLZ through 2003. His pact would have expired
in '99 (Mult. 3/5)....The IHL Long Beach Ice Dogs named SKIP
ALLUM Dir of PR. Allum was at The Robbins Group, working on
the Miller Lite/AVP Beach Volleyball Tour (Ice Dogs).
...DAVID MOSCA has been appointed VP/Sales of ANC Sports
Enterprises. Mosca worked the last five years as Sales
Manager for Sports Advertising Network Inc. (ANC Sports).
...FootAction USA named MARK LARDIE as VP/Senior Divisional
Merchandise Manager for Footwear. Lardie had been Exec VP/
Merchandise Manager at Athlete's Foot since '96
(FootAction)...."EXTRA"'s LAUREN SANCHEZ has joined the
anchor team of Fox Sports News (FSN)....Indianapolis Motor
Speedway named JEFF CHAPMAN as Dir of Marketing & Branding
and JOHN KESLER and PEG CARNEY as Account Execs (IMS).
