CHICAGO'S NEW TV STAR -- SOLDIER FIELD?
Published March 5, 1998
Soldier Field was a "financial success" in '97, as the
Chicago Park District rented it out for commercial and TV
shoots. Film crews for "about" 10 commercials and the TV
series "Early Edition" rented the stadium out last year,
accounting for "about" 5% of the stadium's gross revenue of
$13.5M, up from $11M in '96. Commercials shot at Soldier
Field included an Edge shaving gel spot with Brett Favre, a
Nike ad with Michael Jordan, as well as Wheaties and Lite
Beer spots (Della De Lafuente, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 3/5).
