EVENT & ATTRACTION NOTES: TOP COLLEGE PLAYERS GET NEXT

          Forty-eight of the country's top college women
     basketball players will compete in the inaugural "Women's
     Collegiate World Games" (WCWG), a national showcase
     tournament April 2-4 at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA.
     Six teams of eight players will compete in round-robin play
     with the semi-final match-ups and championship game slated
     for Saturday, April 4.  The Championship game will be
     televised on regional cable nets, including MSG, Home Team
     Sports, Fox Sports South and the Sunshine Network (WCWG).
          NOTES: Intersport TV will bring its '98 U.S. Collegiate
     Golf Championship to the World Golf Village in St.
     Augustine, FL, April 3-5 (Intersport)....MA-based P.S./
     StarGames announced it will establish the first annual Best
     of the Beach Invitational competition for the world's top
     women pro beach volleyball players.  The event will be
     televised on ESPN on a tape delayed basis (StarGames).
