NAMES IN THE NEWS

          Bucks F RAY ALLEN on the "NBA on TBS" last night served
     as a studio analyst and talked about his role in SPIKE LEE's
     upcoming film, "He Got Game."  Allen, on the film: "Knowing
     that DENZEL [WASHINGTON] was part of it and Spike was a part
     of it, I said to myself that the movie wouldn't be a flop,
     it couldn't be a flop -- even if I acted terribly" (TBS,
     3/18).  On "Inside the NBA," TBS's Reggie Theus interviewed
     Lakers F RICK FOX in a feature titled "Rick Fox Goes To
     Hollywood."  The piece showed clips of Fox in "He Got Game"
     and HBO's "Oz."  Fox, on acting: "I just thought it was a
     whole art form, it was a way of entertaining people
     differently than what I do now" (TBS, 3/18)....Wizards C
     GHEORGHE MURESAN, who appears in Billy Crystal's upcoming
     film, "My Giant," appeared on the "Late Show."  Muresan,
     asked if he found acting difficult: "I don't have any idea
     about acting" (CBS, 3/18)....MICHAEL JORDAN's new
     restaurant, "one sixtyblue," opens tonight in Chicago
     (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 3/19)....Sports & Sponsorship  Founder
     SCOTT BECHER is profiled in AD AGE's "On a Roll" section. 
     Becher's "tip" for clients: "National collegiate
     sponsorships remain a relatively uncluttered, cost-effective
     marketing platform" (AD AGE, 3/16 issue).
