DENVER BOARD SELECTS ARCHITECTS FOR BRONCOS STADIUM

          The Metro Denver Football Stadium District Board choose
     Denver-based architects Fentress & Bradburn and the
     architectural firm HNTB to design the Broncos' new stadium,
     according to Ann Imse of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS. Imse
     writes that KC-based HOK Sport was the other finalist, but
     "suffered because all five of its presenters were white men
     who would not be living in Colorado during the design and
     construction" of the stadium. The "winning team" included
     Curt Fentress, who designed part of Denver Int'l Airport;
     Peggy Catlin, VP in charge of HNTB's Denver office; and Bert
     Bruton, "a local black architect whose firm will do some of
     the design" (Ann Imse, ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 2/22).
