FRANCHISE NOTES

          In Edmonton, N.Y. investment banker Michael Largue
     talked with city officials yesterday about the NHL Oilers
     (EDMONTON SUN, 2/20).  Meanwhile, Economic Development
     Edmonton President Rick LeLacheur said that major companies
     throughout Canada "are calling to offer their help"
     (EDMONTON SUN, 2/20)....In Philadelphia, the 76ers have
     hired a marketing research firm, Fundamental Research Group,
     to meet with season-ticket holders about the state of the
     team (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 2/19)....The NJ State
     Interscholastic Athletic Association approved a two-year
     agreement with the Devils that will pay the NJSIAA $25,000
     per year in exchange for the team sponsoring the hockey
     Tournament of Champions at Continental Arena.  The Devils
     will get the ticket, parking and concession money (RECORD,
     2/19).....The Indiana Twisters, formerly of the CISL, have
     been sold to MorSports Inc., a local group headed by Indiana
     Blast/Blaze Owner Kim Morris.  Morris said the Twisters have
     submitted a bid to play in the NPSL (STAR-NEWS, 2/19).
