Union workers at Ottawa's Corel Centre are threatening to "shut the place down" if their demands for wage increases are not met. The Senators play at home tonight and again on Thursday (OTTAWA SUN, 2/2)....S.F. Mayor Willie Brown said that the 49ers stadium-mall complex will "continue to proceed as if nothing's changed." Brown: "The voters authorized us to do a deal for a stadium and mall and I plan to follow through with that." In S.F., Gregory Lewis reported that "a 550-acre chunk of Brisbane, quietly eyed a year ago for a new 49ers stadium, is getting a second look as an alternative" (Gregory Lewis, S.F. EXAMINER, 2/1).
