SPORTS MARKETING NEWS & NOTES: CRAIGHILL'S NEW ADVANTAGE

          FRANK CRAIGHILL, co-Founder and co-Chair of Advantage     Int'l, has been appointed President of Octagon, the sports     and entertainment arm of Interpublic, which acquired     Advantage last May.  As a result of the move, the following     appointments were announced at Advantage Int'l: co-Founder     and co-Chair LEE FENTRESS will now serve as Chair; PHIL DE     PICCIOTTO was named President of the Athlete Management     Division; HARLAN STONE was named President of the Consulting     and Events Division; MIKE BURTON was named CFO; and PETER     LAWLER will direct European Athlete Management and Global     Tennis Management.  Craighill will continue to serve as a     member of Advantage's Board of Directors (Octagon).            WISHING ON A STAR: Starcom Media Services, the separate     media division of Leo Burnett Co, Inc., formed the Starcom     Sports Marketing unit.  WALLY HAYWARD was named the new Dir     of Sports Marketing, and he will work alongside Starcom's     Dir of Sports Media BRUCE BLAIR to expand the company's     operation.  In his time with Burnett, Hayward has served as     Dir of McDonald's Global Sports Alliances with the NBA, NFL,     Olympics, World Cup, NASCAR and NHRA properties, as well as     negotiating sports sponsorships for Ameritech (Leo Burnett).          IT TAKES TWO: Former SportsChannel Chicago execs REX     LARDNER and DAVE TIPTON announced the start of their new     sports consulting and marketing venture, "Two Win Sports     Marketing."  The new firm specializes in four areas: TV     programming, production and syndication; corporate     sponsorship and advertising sales; consulting; and talent     and player representation (Two Win Sports Marketing).
