KEEPING TRACK OF THE COLA WARS: PEPSI DEALS WITH PENSKE

          PepsiCo agreed to a long-term deal to become the
     official soft drink of Penske Motorsports.  Pepsi will title
     sponsor two new races -- The Pepsi 400 Winston Series and
     the Pepsi 200 Busch Grand National Series, both at Michigan
     Speedway.  Pepsi also extended its current pouring, vending
     and presence rights at MI Speedway, CA Speedway, NC Speedway
     and Nazareth Speedway, and formed a marketing/vending
     alliance at Penske Auto Centers nationwide (Penske).
          ALL IN THE FAMILY: Coca-Cola unveiled its "Coca-Cola
     NASCAR Racing Family," a group of ten NASCAR drivers that
     will be the "cornerstone" of its '98 NASCAR involvement.  In
     the Southeast, the family will appear on outdoor billboards,
     vending machines and POP displays, on Coca-Cola Classic
     packaging and pre-feature trailers at local cinemas.  Coca-
     Cola will support the partnership through a print, TV, radio
     and an online ad campaign (AD AGE, 2/11).
