PATTON NO LONGER THE GENERAL OF THESE PENGUINS

Donn Patton has resigned as President of the Penguins
to pursue other business opportunities. Patton had been
with the franchise since November '91 and served as
President since November '96. Co-Owners Roger Marino and
Howard Baldwin will begin a search for a new team president
(Penguins). In Pittsburgh, Joe Starkey writes under the
header, "Patton Fell Out Of Favor With Penguins Ownership."
Pens co-Owner Baldwin said, "We really need to get somebody
in there (as team president) who can relate to the
community. ... We need to get certain things done that
     weren't getting done" (Pittsburgh TRIBUNE-REVIEW, 2/12).
