OLYMPIC NOTES: MIXED FEELINGS ON SNOWBOARDING IN OLYMPICS

          ACOG has completed its "Official Report of the
     Centennial Olympic Games."  The 1,536-page report "details
     the planning process from the initial bid to Closing
     Ceremonies."  About 500 copies will be available for $325 in
     February from Atlanta-based Peachtree Publishers (ATLANTA
     CONSTITUTION, 1/23)....Burton Snowboards Founder Jake
     Burton, on snowboarding being an Olympic sport for the first
     time: "Snowboarding isn't about a team.  It's about an
     individual. ... The U.S. federation asked if my company
     would be interested in outfitting the team and, frankly, I
     said no.  I wouldn't want some athlete who normally doesn't
     wear Burton being forced to wear Burton."  Nike has signed
     on to provide the thermal clothing, and Phenix, a Japanese
     company, is providing the rest (PHILA. INQUIRER, 1/25).
     ..Mark Fawcett, who has secured a spot on the Canadian
     Olympic Snowboard Team, is sponsored by Fila (Fila)....In
     Calgary, 15,193 fans attended the Canada-U.S. women's
     Olympic hockey game played at the Saddledome last night. 
     That topped a women's hockey attendance record of 14,944 set
     earlier this month in Vancouver (CALGARY SUN, 1/27).
