REPORT HAS MCCOMBS TAKING CONTROL OF VIKINGS WITHIN TEN DAYS

          Former Nuggets and Spurs Owner Red McCombs "is expected
     to acquire majority interest in the Vikings within 10 days,"
     according to an NFL source of Charley Walters of the ST.
     PAUL PIONEER-PRESS.  But Vikings co-Owner Skip Maas said
     it's "premature" to "prejudge anything at this time." 
     Walters writes that "some" of the team's ten owners "are
     expected to retain limited stock in the team if McCombs gets
     majority interest" (ST. PAUL PIONEER-PRESS, 1/27).
