CO Gov. Ray Romer "threw his support Thursday behind
holding an election in May" to build a new stadium for the
Broncos. It was the first time Romer has spoken openly of
his support for a stadium tax (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 1/23).
...The Univ. of Pittsburgh said that it wanted to sell
corporate naming rights to the $52M convocation center and
its 12,500-seat arena "as part of a plan to finance the new
building." They are also considering selling marketing
rights inside the arena (POST-GAZETTE, 1/22)....The AAA
Oklahoma RedHawks have signed a seven-year deal with
Southwestern Bell to name their new $29M park, Southwestern
Bell Park. Terms were not disclosed (OKLAHOMAN, 1/21).
