          The Nets signed GM JOHN NASH to a multi-year contract
     extension (N.Y. POST, 1/17)....BRANDWEEK's Terry Lefton
     reports that Starter VP/Marketing IAN GOMAR "is the latest"
     to leave the company.  He starts next month as Senior VP for
     Woolworth's Champs chain.  Since September, Starter
     President JOHN TUCKER and Senior VP/Marketing JOHN THORBECK
     have also departed (BRANDWEEK, 1/19)....ESPN Int'l promoted
     MINARD HAMILTON to the newly created position of Senior VP. 
     Hamilton was VP/Programming since '95 (ESPN Int'l).
