FILM COMPANY LOOKING TO EXPAND ITS PRESENCE IN SPORTS WORLD

Mandalay Sports Entertainment (MSE), a CA-based sports
management company that owns several minor-league baseball
and hockey teams, "may move into a new arena -- media
ownership," according to Randyl Drummer of the ONTARIO
BUSINESS PRESS. MSE exec Tom Henderson, whose company is a
division of Mandalay Entertainment, said that MSE is close
on a deal to buy an Inland Empire radio station, although he
"declined to name" the station. MSE is also "one of several
companies negotiating with Ontario to build a new sports
arena." An MSE exec said that the move to buy the station
is "tightly intertwined" with the company's effort to build
the new arena. MSE plans to bring a hockey team to the area
if selected to build the arena (ONT, BUSINESS PRESS, 1/11).
