          Former NBA player KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR wants to bar
     Dolphins RB KARIM ABDUL-JABBAR, formerly know as Sharmon
     Shan, from using that name.  The NBA's Jabbar, who filed
     suit Thursday in LA, "claims there are too many similarities
     between the two UCLA products" (USA TODAY, 11/7)....Palace
     Sports & Entertainment co-Owner DAVID HERMELIN received U.S.
     Senate confirmation to become U.S. Ambassador to Norway
     (DETROIT NEWS, 11/7)....DEREK DICKEY, a Bulls radio analyst,
     was listed in serious but stable condition at Northwestern
     Memorial Hospital on Thursday, a day after suffering a
     stroke (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 11/7)....DON KING, on MIKE TYSON's
     recent interview on ABC's "PrimeTime Live": "I think Mike
     did exceedingly well.  The people got an opportunity to see
     the other side of Mike.  He's not a complainer, but he's an
     explainer."  Tyson is being advised by NV-based PR
     consultant SIG ROGICH (REVIEW-JOURNAL, 11/6).
