  • IMG SETS UP SALT LAKE OFFICE FOR OLYMPIC CONSULTATION

IMG will open an office in Salt Lake City this month
"to service corporate clients sponsoring the 2002 Winter
Olympics," according to Jeff Jensen of AD AGE. The move is
the latest in a "series of aggressive initiatives" aimed at
establishing IMG as "a leader in corporate consulting in
sports marketing." IMG Senior VP/New Business Robert
Prazmark said that the office will be led by an exec who is
"familiar with the city's Olympic operation," although he
"declined" to name the person (AD AGE, 10/6 issue).
NAGANO ADS NEARLY SOLD OUT: Having recently struck
deals with Aflac and Charles Schwab, CBS has now sold
"about" 95% of its ad time for its coverage of the '98
Winter Games, according to Langdon Brockinton of MEDIAWEEK.
Aflac's purchase price is said to be in the "low seven-
figures." In addition, "several undisclosed movie studios"
have bought time for the broadcasts, which will begin
         February 6 (MEDIAWEEK, 10/6 issue).
