              The Bills named Canadian reps to help them in marketing
         and sales promotion of the team in Toronto.  Former CFL Argos
         Dir of Marketing BRET GALLAGHER and former Labatt Breweries
         Promotions Manager DOUG FRAIN have been added to the team's
         staff in Toronto (TORONTO SUN, 10/26).....Former Patriots and
         Colts QB TOM RAMSEY was named Dir of Corporate Sales by the
         Broncos (Co Springs GAZETTE TELEGRAPH, 10/26).

  • KIDSPEACE NATIONAL SPORTS COUNCIL ADDS TO ITS ROSTER

              JEFFREY POLLACK, President & Publisher of THE DAILY, has
         been named to the KIDSPEACE NATIONAL SPORTS COUNCIL. 
         KidsPeace is the nation's oldest and most comprehensive
         organization dedicated to helping children overcome crisis,
         and the KidsPeace National Sports Council helps promote
         participation in sports as a way for children to develop the
         emotional, physical and intellectual skills they need to
         overcome challenges and crises.  Members of the council

              Olympic sprint champion DONOVAN BAILEY was charged with
         careless driving and leaving an accident scene after his
         Mercedes-Benz crashed early Sunday (TORONTO SUN, 10/27)....
         CHARLES BARKLEY was arrested Sunday and charged with
         aggravated battery and resisting arrest without violence
         after an incident at an Orlando nightclub (Mult., 10/26).

  • WILL GRANT REPLACE MJ AT THE TOP OF THE HILL?

              Pistons F GRANT HILL was profiled by Curry Kirkpatrick
         in Sunday's N.Y. TIMES MAGAZINE under the header "Excuse Me
         While I Dominate."  Kirkpatrick: [P]ro basketball is ready
         for Hill to take over the game.  But is he ready?"  Hill: "My
         basketball personality has changed.  I came into last season
         wanting to send a message to my teammates, to the whole
         league.  I'm for real.  I mean business.  I think I can be
         the best player in the N.B.A., and I want to show it."  Hill,
         on becoming a superstar: "Going out as a celebrity and V.I.P.
         was a novelty at first, fun, exciting.  Now it's like every
         time I leave the house, I feel like I'm running for office. 
         If I want to dance, I'll do it in front of a mirror or
         something."  Fila Senior VP Howe Burch, who signed Hill to a
         recent contract extension: "Grant probably will determine the
         destiny of our company" (N.Y. TIMES MAGAZINE, 10/26).
