     present a real-time Internet wirecast of the World Series at
     www.totalsports.net, http://wire.ap.org; and www.
     mlbworldseries.com (Total Sports)....In N.Y., Bob Raissman:
     "Watching Joe Buck's performance in Fox's baseball booth
     this season only confirms our feeling he'll be the next
     great network play-by-play man" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 10/19).
          PUBLISHING: In St. Petersburg, Tom Jones looks at the
     new book written by former NHL President Gil Stein, "Power
     Plays.  An Inside Look at the Big Business of the National
     Hockey League."  Jones: "Stein offers more details to what
     was said and done in the presentations, and his book offers
     hockey fans insight to how the NHL's hierarchy works and
     thinks" (ST. PETE TIMES, 10/19)....Pro Football Weekly "is
     about to expand" to a sister publication known as Basketball
     News in February (Fred Mitchell, CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 10/20).

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
