Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Claude Lemieux
     and Rene Corbet recently filmed promo ads for Fox Sports Net
     which will run at the end of the month on Fox Sports Rocky
     Mountain, according to Penny Parker of the DENVER POST. 
     "Portions" of the spots will be used for a national campaign
     produced by Spike Lee.  In one spot, entitled "Ginsu," an
     equipment manager asks Roy if his skates are sharp enough. 
     Roy then slices up some vegetables and tries unsuccessfully
     to sever a nail with the skate, before handing it back and
     saying, "No.  Keep going" (DENVER POST, 9/18).

          In an effort to "show off" the city, Jacksonville
     businesses "will be telling their employees" to leave their
     lights on for ABC's "Monday Night Football" telecast of the
     Jaguars-Steelers game, according to Earl Daniels of the
     FLORIDA TIMES-UNION.  It will be the Jaguars' first regular-
     season "MNF" appearance and downtown businesses were
     notified by the city Chamber of Commerce after officials in
     the mayor's office "urged the light-up effort."  In one
     example, it will cost $700 to light the 30-story BellSouth
     Tower for five hours (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 9/17). 

          MLB: MLB Int'l (MLBI) signed a three-year international
     sponsorship agreement with the PepsiCo, covering the
     Caribbean and Latin America.  PepsiCo will produce baseball-
     themed advertising for regular-season and postseason MLBI
     telecasts in the Caribbean and Latin America and will
     sponsor special in-game promotional segments on MLBI's All-
     Star Game and World Series telecasts (MLBI).
          GENERAL: U.S. National soccer player Tisha Venturini
     was named spokesperson for CA-based Produce for Better
     Health Foundation (PBH)....NY-based People & Properties, a
     division of Kaleidoscope Sports & Entertainment, has signed
     an agreement with Jack Nicklaus Productions to handle
     advertising and sponsorship sales for the company's golf and
     tennis properties (People & Properties).

          The following lists companies which supply headwear for
     NFL teams.  League rules state that players must wear hats
     from the team's assigned supplier.  But Logo Athletic,
     Nike/Sports Specialties, Reebok and Starter are allowed 20
     exemptions and are able to supply headwear to 20 players on
     teams where they don't have official designations.  Some
     companies have marketing deals with players on assigned
