          In N.Y., WFAN radio personality Mike Francesa, in an
     interview with the POST's Phil Mushnick: "I want to be more
     fair on the air; strive for more dignity.  That goes for
     dealing with our callers as well as with the people we
     interview."  As an example, Francesa said that he was "dead
     wrong" for previously calling Jets Owner Leon Hess a
     "doddering old fool."  Francesa: "And that's one of those
     things that I've been thinking about -- that I can be that
     wrong.  How many other things have I gotten that wrong?"
     (N.Y. POST, 8/18)....In Boston, WSBK-TV has offered Dave
     Shea the job as successor to Fred Cusick to handle Bruins
     play-by-play (BOSTON GLOBE, 8/16)....Gaylord Entertainment
     shareholders OK'd the sale of The Nashville Network and
     Country Music TV to Westinghouse for $1.55B in Westinghouse
     stock (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 8/18).....ESPN's Chris Berman,
     hosting last night's late "SportsCenter" with Dan Patrick:
     "Is this the humongous show?" (ESPN, 8/17).
