          Spike Lee, on his spots for NHL games on Fox Sports
     Net: "The challenge we have in doing this campaign is to
     make the game more appealing to persons who are not hockey
     maniacs" (USA TODAY, 8/15)....'96 World Champion and four-
     time U.S. National Champion figure skater Todd Eldredge has
     signed an endorsement agreement with Cooks Champagne, the
     flagship brand of the Canadaigua Wine Co.  The Eldredge
     marketing campaign will begin in the fourth quarter of '97
     and run through the Nagano Olympics (Cooks)....CA-based
     Sports Club Co., majority owner of the Reebok Sports Club in
     N.Y.'s Lincoln Square, "is hoping to expand in the city and
     is eyeing partnerships with New York hospitals as one way to
     do so."  Sports Club CEO Michael Talla: "We're really
     talking to three main guys there" (CRAIN'S N.Y. BUSINESS,
     8/11 issue)....As part of its PBA/PBA Senior Tour
     sponsorship, NV-based Showboat Hotel, Casino and Bowling
     Center will sponsor a $1M bonus for anyone rolling a 300
     game in a title match on the nine championship round finals
     televised by CBS in '98 (PBA)...."NBR" reported that while
     British adults "have continued to find U.S. [sports]
     clothing attractive, their children, however, have changed
     the pattern, demanding English soccer gear" ("NBR," 8/14).
