BENGALS GET COST ESTIMATES ON NEW RIVERFRONT STADIUM

The Bengals' new "riverfront stadium project --
including parking, plaza, practice fields and training
facility -- likely will cost" about $301.5M, "even before
land costs are added," according to Lucy May of the
CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. The estimate marks the first time
Hamilton County officials have "offered an estimate" that
tops $300M. Officials released a $270M price when the
stadium lease was signed in May, but "they said all along
that the $270 million estimate didn't include everything."
Hamilton County Commission President Bob Bedinghaus said
that the $301.5M figure includes $10.5M for practice fields
and a training facility, $13.2M for parking, and $7.8M for
the stadium's plaza. Items not accounted for include the
financing costs, "which aren't yet known," and the cost of
the land, which "may add at least another" $30M. Bedinghaus
said that $301.5M is not final, but it is the price county
officials are using until an official "guaranteed maximum
price" is reached (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 8/12).
