ESPN MAGAZINE LOOKS TO NAME EDITOR "AS EARLY AS THIS WEEK"

Walt Disney "is expected" to name John Papanek Editor-
In-Chief of ESPN magazine "as early as this week," according
to Keith Kelly of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS. Kelly reports
sources say that the former SI Editor, who is now at New
Century Network, told staff members he will resign shortly,
and is expected to accept Disney's offer. Papanek, however,
said he is only "in talks" with Disney, and declined to say
if he would take the job (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 8/11).
