TWI ACQUIRES INDEPENDENT SPORTS PROGRAMMING SYNDICATOR GGP
Published July 8, 1997
Trans World Int'l, the TV arm of IMG, has acquired the
syndication arm and library of GGP Productions, the
independent sports programming syndicator based in S.F. and
N.Y., according to Steve Brennan of HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
Terms were not disclosed. Brennan: "[E]ssentially, the move
provides TWI with a ready-made, up-and-running syndication
division for its programming." Most of the GGP syndication
staff will remain with TWI, including Hillary Mandel, GGP's
Senior VP/Distribution, who will continue in the same role
at TWI and be reunited with former GGP President Bob
Horowitz, now TWI's Senior VP (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 7/8).
